The Monorack was built out of frustration.

Donny Guerinoni and David Krooopnick spent years coaching at every level — grassroots, high school, Boys and Girls Club, junior college, NCAA Division I and III. When Donny transitioned from Harvard to the training business, he ran into the same problem in every gym he walked into: basketballs scattered everywhere, no good place to put them, and every rack on the market either too bulky to store, too flimsy to last, or both.

After coming up empty searching for something better, he sketched out a solution himself, filed for a patent, and got to work.

David Kroopnick joined shortly after — a longtime friend and fellow coach who'd walked the same sidelines. What started as a conversation over coffee turned into a full partnership. Together they spent the next year collaborating with a Somerville, MA engineering firm to turn a napkin sketch into a product built to last.

The Monorack hit the market in 2024. It's the first and only collapsible basketball rack — no tools, no permanent storage footprint, no replacing the whole unit when one part wears out.

Two former coaches built the thing they wished existed. That's the whole story.
